Torrevieja: Pioneer in Europe as a 'Crypto Friendly' City

Torrevieja is set to become the first crypto-friendly city in Europe, with a digital transformation project that includes payment with cryptocurrencies. This technological breakthrough not only promises to boost investment and tourism in the municipality, but also to modernise local commerce. The initiative, led by the traders' association APYMECO and backed by the City Council, includes phases ranging from encouraging the use of cryptocurrencies in commercial transactions to promoting sustainability and generating employment in the technology sector. In addition, training courses will be offered in collaboration with the University of Alicante to train interested traders. With this ambitious project, Torrevieja seeks to attract investment and consolidate itself as a benchmark in the adoption of innovative technologies in local commerce.
