Historical Record at Alicante-Elche Airport: The Best August in its History

Alicante-Elche Airport closed August 2024 with record figures, registering 1.96 million passengers, an increase of 15.3% compared to the same period in 2023, according to Aena data. This milestone puts the airport on track to reach an all-time annual record, with 12.3 million passengers in the first eight months of the year, 17% more than in 2023.

The months of July and August consolidated the most successful summer in the airport's history, adding almost 4 million passengers. Although August's figures are impressive, they are slightly down on July, when 2 million passengers were almost reached, a common trend at the terminal due to the region's tourism dynamics.

With only four months left in the year, the airport is less than 3 million passengers away from surpassing the all-time record of 2023, when it passed 15 million passengers.
