Next April will mark the start of a new air connection between the province of Alicante and the Italian capital, Rome, thanks to the opening of a route operated by the company WizzAir. With three weekly frequencies, this flight represents a valuable opportunity to strengthen tourism links between the two regions.

The Costa Blanca, known for its enchanting beaches and rich tourist offer, is seeking to attract Italian tourists through this new air route. In anticipation of this launch, the Costa Blanca Tourist Board has held a destination presentation aimed at specialised media in Italy, highlighting the diverse attractions on offer in the Alicante province, from its stunning coastline to its rich gastronomy and vibrant cultural life.

José Mancebo, director of the Diputación's tourism body, expressed his enthusiasm for this initiative, underlining the importance of expanding air transport options to attract more tourists from Rome. The presence of WizzAir, a well-known low-cost airline with a strong presence in Italy, opens up new possibilities for Italian tourism on the Costa Blanca.

In short, the opening of this air connection between Alicante and Rome represents a significant step towards strengthening tourism links between the two regions, offering Italian travellers a new gateway to the wonders of the Costa Blanca.
