Torrevieja, Alicante and Orihuela lead the real estate market in the province of Alicante in 2023

In 2023, the three leading municipalities in property sales in the province were Torrevieja, Alicante and Orihuela. These data are taken from the quarterly statistics of the Ministry of Mobility, Transport and Urban Agenda, based on information provided by the property registrars.

The province of Alicante showed an upward trend in the real estate market towards the end of 2023, especially driven by an increase in holiday demand from the Balearic Islands. In addition, the luxury housing sector is emerging strongly in this province.

In total, there were 53,155 real estate transactions in the province of Alicante during 2023, representing a decrease of 8.22% compared to the previous year. Of these transactions, 18,639 homes were sold in Torrevieja, Alicante and Orihuela, equivalent to 35% of the total. Adding up the sales in the other three leading Alicante cities in the last full year (Elche, Benidorm and Santa Pola), the total number of homes sold was 26,332, almost half of all transactions in the province (49.5%).

In addition, the market for new build properties is experiencing a general increase in the Vega Baja, especially in Torrevieja, Orihuela and Guardamar del Segura.
